From 1919 to 1921 he played with the senior Moose Jaw Maple Leafs. In 1921 he was signed as a free agent with the Regina Capitals of the Western Canada Hockey League. Sparrow also played with the Edmonton Eskimos and the Calgary Tigers of the same league. In 1924-25 the Tigers loaned him to the Boston Bruins. After playing eight games, scoring no points, he was returned to the Tigers.

After playing eight games, scoring no points, he was returned to the Tigers. When the league folded in 1926, Sparrow joined the Tigers as they played in the Prairie Hockey League. After that he played two more seasons of minor pro before retiring in 1929. Sparrow was suspended by the Prairie League in December 1927 for assaulting a referee.
