| - Der Name Eldar (das Volk der Sterne) wurde den Quendi (Elben) von Orome, einem der 14 Valar, verliehen. Er galt den Elben, die Orome folgten und sich auf den Weg nach Westen machten. Ob sie tatsächlich den Westen erreichten, oder doch in Mittelerde verweilten, spielte dabei keine Rolle. Gleichbedeutend wie Eldar wird auch Eldalië („Das Elbenvolk“ verwendet).
- Eldar are the High-Elves of Myra. Most of those Eldar who survived the battle of Pondaron over 400 years ago, went to the Valley of Life somewhere on Kezunsea afterwards, where Dragons and Unicorns, both all but extinct in the rest of the world, still are rumoured to roam freely. They are fair-skinned, nearly pale, and tall, usually rather slender than stocky.

- More then common belief says is known of the eldars history, most are theories, such as where they came from, and how old this ancient race is. - Eldar are responsible for the creation of the Chaos god Slaanesh and the location in the 40k universe known as the Eye of Terror. The events that led to the creation of these is known as the Fall of the Eldar and killed many psykers throughout the universe. The Eldar pantheon after the Fall was brought down to three gods: Cegorach, the laughing god, Kaela Mensha Khaine, the war god, and Isha, the goddess of the harvest. Khaine's physical body was shattered in a battle against the Chaos gods Slaanesh and Khorne, while Isha was captured by Slaanesh, then kidnapped from him by his brother Nurgle. The Fall also led to the Eldar losing all worlds they once held, forcing them onto immense spacecraft known as Craftworlds, like that to the right.
- The Eldar were the Elves who were closest to their masters the Valheru. They were their Lorekeepers and Librarians and travelled with them to other worlds on the backs of the Great Dragons when they raided across the Universe. Before the end of the Chaos Wars one group of Eldar fled Midkemia to the world of Andcardia and would eventually become the Taredhel. When the Chaos Wars ended another group of the Eldar went into self-imposed exile underneath the polar ice of Kelewan and establised an outpost called Elvardein to guard against the day that the Valheru returned.

- "Eldar" is a word from the Tolkienverse that refers to a large portion (but very importantly, not all) of the elves living in Middle-earth and Valinor. The critical difference is that the Eldar are elves who accepted the summons of the Valar and came to Valinor – those who did not are called the Avari and have been referred to as "wild" and "less wise" than the Eldar.

- Eldar is the origin kingdom the of elves and a small neighboring island of Firun. There are living only those elves, who did not participate in the resettlement. The island consists almost exclusively from forests and the south part of pasture land. In the forest are very high and old trees and in between the normal deciduous trees. Many rivers rise on this island which flow into the sea.
- Ever since the Fall, the Eldar have been a divided people. Those that didn't want to relive the Fall stayed on the Craftworlds, as Craftworld Eldar.
