The skeleton is the first tier unit of the Necromancer faction in Heroes of Might and Magic II, recruited by building an excavation in a Necromancer town. Like all undead units, they are immune to mind affecting spells, Bless and Curse, and always have neutral morale. Skeletons grow in number quickly, especially when led by a hero with a high Necromancy skill, and can easily meet or surpass the numbers of peasants a Knight town can produce. While they are flimsy, they have a good speed and hit about as hard as zombies do. They are best used in attacks that are likely to kill or cripple the enemy stack, to avoid a disastrous retaliation.
