One night at the Kuno mansion, Tatewaki decides to carve his and the Pig-Tailed Girl's names on a tree in his yard. This puts a spell on Kuno and he becomes one with the tree. In order to be free, he must sacrifice the girl whose name was carved into the tree, or the two must have a fun date together. Ranma, not wanting to be sacrificed for Kuno's sake, decides to go on a semi-date with Kuno, where Kuno is treated more like a display than a date. He becomes insistent that the only way for the date to be fun is for Ranma to kiss him. After refusing multiple advances, the tree spirit takes over Kuno entirely and charges at Ranma. Ranma, fed up with the entire situation, gets a large axe to chop down the tree. The tree backs down and frees Kuno.
