Yoshiro is the heir of a Imamura Samurai clan from Wano Country on the Grand Line. The Imamura Clan were the creators and masters of the Ryu Ken no Koto swordsmanship style, warriors powerful enough to be able to change course of entire battles on their own. As such the clan were charged with the protection of a Saijo O Wazamono grade sword known as the "Wraith of Wrath". Yoshiro was the strongest warrior of his generation and when the clan was in its darkest hour he was entrusted with their greatest treasure. As such the clan were charged with the protection of a Saijo O Wazamono grade sword known as the "Wraith of Wrath". Yoshiro was the strongest warrior of his generation and when the clan was in its darkest hour he was entrusted with their greatest treasure. He chose a self imposed exile to an island in South Blue to protect the The Wraith of Wrath that had been in their care for generations. He continued to train himself becoming a world class swordsman in order to keep the dangerous "Wraith Of Wrath" Nodachi out the hands of those who are unworthy. During his exile he was discovered by a world government agent who reported his possession of the weapon to his superiors. When the World Government official arrived with a force of Marines and ordered that Yoshiro hand over the weapon, he cut them all down and escaped. After spending several months on the run in the islands hills Yoshiro realised that he could not keep the sword safe on one island forever. He needed to keep on the move and so he traveled to the main port to try and escape. There he was cornered by a large force Marines, he was rescued from his predicament by the Seraph Pirates who happened to be passing by. Respecting the strength that they had shown and the openness with which they treated him, Yoshiro decided to join the crew and sail the world.
