Kahlib ul Hanoh (pronounced KAH-leeb uhl HAH-noh) was a smith as well as the headman of a small village in Gold Ridge Valley. He owned a smithy which Daja Kisubo described as cramped and dirty. Kahlib also had an apprentice. He allowed Daja to work on the tasks her teacher Frostpine had set her, mostly nails, in his smithy while the Duke's company was out looking at the valley, until Tenth Caravan Idaram asked him to do some work for them, making it impossible for Daja to remain in the smithy, because she was still trangshi. Kahlib himself also accompanied Duke Vedris when he was looking at the countryside, talking to him about what was necessary to enable his village and the whole valley to live through the winter. Afterwards a Trader caravan called at his forge, requesting him to do some

| - Kahlib ul Hanoh (pronounced KAH-leeb uhl HAH-noh) was a smith as well as the headman of a small village in Gold Ridge Valley. He owned a smithy which Daja Kisubo described as cramped and dirty. Kahlib himself also accompanied Duke Vedris when he was looking at the countryside, talking to him about what was necessary to enable his village and the whole valley to live through the winter. Afterwards a Trader caravan called at his forge, requesting him to do some work for them. Although at first they only wanted him to do some small metal work and were eager to be on their way again, they later requested that he went over every piece of metal on the caravan. While Duke Vedris was staying in Gold Ridge Frostpine was helping Kahlib and even though they were three persons to work on the caravan's request--Kahlib, his apprentice and Frostpine--it was much work for them, especially because Kahlib's apprentice wasn't "good for much" according to Frostpine. The smith was described as being a short man with grey-bristled cheeks and dark eyes buried in wrinkles. He dressed like any craftsman in tunic and breeches. Kahlib only appeared as a minor character in Daja's Book.
