Robert S. "Bob" Poydasheff (born 1929 or 1930) is an American politician and former mayor of Columbus, Georgia. Poydasheff served as mayor of Columbus from 2003 through 2006, having previously served on Columbus city council from 1994 through 2002.[citation needed] He served with distinction in the United States Army for 24 years, retiring at the rank of colonel.[citation needed] During his military career, he served as chief counsel to several high-ranking officers involved in the My Lai Massacre and the Post Exchange scandal.[citation needed]

Poydasheff served as mayor of Columbus from 2003 through 2006, having previously served on Columbus city council from 1994 through 2002.[citation needed] He served with distinction in the United States Army for 24 years, retiring at the rank of colonel.[citation needed] During his military career, he served as chief counsel to several high-ranking officers involved in the My Lai Massacre and the Post Exchange scandal.[citation needed] He earned a B.A. in political science from The Citadel in 1954, a J.D. from Tulane University Law School in 1957, an M.A. in international relations from Boston University's Graduate Program in Berlin, Germany in 1967, and attended the Hague Academy of International Law in the Netherlands.[citation needed] Poydasheff was unsuccessful in his 2006 bid for re-election to a second term as mayor, and was succeeded by former Columbus police chief Jim Wetherington. Poydasheff is married to the former Anastasia "Stacy" Catherine Latto,[citation needed] and has two children, Catherine Alexandra Ross and Robert S. Poydasheff, Jr. His son is an attorney with Harp and Poydasheff in Columbus, Georgia specializing in domestic law and real estate transactions.
