The SDPW/Particle Blade, most commonly known as the Particle Blade or the Saulosian Energy Sword, was a powerful and lethal close quarter one-handed melee weapon used by the Saulosian Directorate and their member races. Originally designed for ceremonial use by High-Ranking Officials, they were occasionally used for duels of pride and for the settlement of conflicts. At first, the blades used to be melee weapons, made of durable materials which were reported to resist a high amount of force. The full potential of the weapon was soon realized with the advent of their Particle Technology. After much trial and error, Saulosian Technicians were able to include Particle Technology onto the durable weapons, thus, creating the SDPW/Particle Blade.

At first, the blades used to be melee weapons, made of durable materials which were reported to resist a high amount of force. The full potential of the weapon was soon realized with the advent of their Particle Technology. After much trial and error, Saulosian Technicians were able to include Particle Technology onto the durable weapons, thus, creating the SDPW/Particle Blade. The weapon consisted of a blade that was partially cut, with the only part remaining at the edge. A highly durable and energy resistant and semi-conductive piece of metal is then used as the basis for the blade. It also also included a feature of vibrating at an extremely high frequency, thus giving the blade an increased cutting/slashing ability. When in action, the blade has no visible movement. However, that assumption is false due to the fact that it is striking its intended target several thousand times per second. This happens so fast that the weapon seemingly "slices" through armour or tissue. Even thought it didn't seem the least bit dangerous, it was only a very small part in a bigger design. This was the normal appearance of an "unactivated" blade. The true appearance of an "activated" blade revolves around particles (usually electrons, positrons, or protons).
