Chrislee33 05:56, 24 March 2008 (UTC) On a more personal note, I've been an administrator on (see wikibooks:User:Robert Horning for my user page there) for the past three years. Philosophically, I tend to be an inclusionist, encouraging experimentation and pushing the boundaries of web technology. I've also earned my stripes on Wikipedia wikipedia:User:Robert Horning and for good or ill have been involved with the Wikimedia Foundation politics to a certain extent, including being one of the major backers and organizers of the Wikiversity project. I'm not seeking adminship here to add another project to my resume, but rather because I happen to like the community of content developers here and would like to fight vandalism and those who do harm to the already outstanding content on this website. I also understand the overwhelming need to achieve consensus of opinion before making drastic changes. I certainly don't care about any of the extra "privileges" that come with being an administrator other than I can use these tools sparingly to help fight those who would do harm. As a final pledge, I simply will not, ever, under any circumstances, engage in wheel warring. I've been tempted in the past to engage in that kind of behavior when I thought other administrators were flat out wrong. I've even been in fights with "sysops" (aka like the wikia server operators) when they've done things I don't approve of. I even "fought" Jimbo himself on one issue and got Jimbo to back down :) (yes, that Jimmy Wales who "owns" the server this website is on). But if this ever occurs, I will see a 3rd party to help mediate the situation and attempt to gain community consensus before overturning actions of other admins. Most importantly, I love Runescape and those connected to it. It has been a fun game to play, and offers some interesting freedom of action that is unlike many virtual environments I've had the pleasure of coming across. Those who have put together the content on this website deserve some special congratulations. --Robert Horning 23:45, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
