Mary Fletcher-Vane (née Proby), (6 October 1913 - 5 July 1982) known as Lady Inglewood from 1964, was a local politician and magistrate. The daughter of Sir Richard Proby, 1st Baronet of Elton hall, Huntingdon and Betty Monica née Murray. During the Second World War she served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service, reaching the rank of senior commander (equivalent to a major). In July 1949 she married William Fletcher-Vane, member of parliament for Westmorland, and became Mrs. Mary Fletcher-Vane. She died suddenly while on holiday in Morocco aged 68.

The daughter of Sir Richard Proby, 1st Baronet of Elton hall, Huntingdon and Betty Monica née Murray. During the Second World War she served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service, reaching the rank of senior commander (equivalent to a major). In April 1949 she was elected to the London County Council as one of three Conservative Party councillors representing Paddington North. She served a single three-year term, and did not defend the seat at the next count council elections in April 1952. All three Paddington North seats were won by the Labour Party, who held them until the LCC's abolition in 1965. In July 1949 she married William Fletcher-Vane, member of parliament for Westmorland, and became Mrs. Mary Fletcher-Vane. She was to return to local government as a member of Cumberland County Council from 1961-74. She also sat on the committee of Cumbria Constabulary and was appointed a magistrate in 1960, becoming chair of the Penrith Bench of Magistrates. In 1964 her husband was raised to the House of Lords as the 1st Baron Inglewood, of Hutton in the Forest in the County of Cumberland, and she became Lady Inglewood. She died suddenly while on holiday in Morocco aged 68.
