- Backslash is a cool character, a criminal killer who is as slick with words as he is deadly with an energy blade. He works for Cryotek, mostly in the field of killing folks. Though he was built to be a new member of the Decepticon Military Police, upon first activation, he murdered his indoctrination officer and immediately fled to the streets to begin his life of crime. Despite his history of ill deeds, he's never once been caught, keeping his criminal record clean. Because of this, Backslash has a reputation of being "untouchable".
- At first glance, the Backslash doesn’t seem to fit its owner - and that is precisely one of the primary reasons why Vok Ruvege chose the DeepWater-class Light Freighter as his personal vessel. The fact that it apparently runs contrary to a Shistavanen’s tastes gives it an invaluable quality to the Dark Lord in his line of work of moving about unseen. Of course, playing against expectations is not the only thing the Backslash has going for it.

- At first glance, the Backslash doesn’t seem to fit its owner - and that is precisely one of the primary reasons why Vok Ruvege chose the DeepWater-class Light Freighter as his personal vessel. The fact that it apparently runs contrary to a Shistavanen’s tastes gives it an invaluable quality to the Dark Lord in his line of work of moving about unseen. Of course, playing against expectations is not the only thing the Backslash has going for it. The relatively rare ability of the DeepWater-class to operate underwater is another feature that strongly appealed to Vok, as it allows him to land in places few ships can access as well as provide a viable option for shaking potential pursuers. The strong hull, powerful shields (primary and backup) also means that his vessel has quite a bit of protection over other ships of the Backslash’s size. Some modifications were necessary to bring the Backslash up to Vok’s high standards though… The stock engines were replaced with much more powerful alternatives that forced Vok to sacrifice cargo space and passenger room to fit them in properly without changing the outside hull. The new engines are able to push the light freighter into speeds on par with some X-wing models. Heavier armaments were also installed to give the Backslash a much fiercer bite than a standard DeepWater-class. The most feared modification is one many only see once: Vok’s personal interrogation room. The room features all of the tools and equipment Vok uses in his sessions with prisoners. It even houses an interrogation droid to assist the Dark Lord when necessary. Although rarely seen in action (much like its owner) the Backslash has managed to become one of the most notorious ships in the Cult of Shadow. After Vok was killed by Delth Ardin, Vok's former apprentice, Blud, claimed the ship for his own.

He has an under-slung cannon and jet boosters in jet mode, and in robot mode carries an "energon spear" melee weapon which can have the blade removed to become a sniper rifle.
