From 2003 to 2007 the governed with a majority government, from 2007 to 2008 they governed in a coalition with the ADQ, and from 2008 to 2012 they once again governed with a majority. This gave Jean Charest three consecutive governments as Prime Minister. Following their loss in 2012, Philippe Couilliard became Prime Minister. In the snap 2014 elections, they won a commanding majority in the National Assembly, driving Couilliard to the premiership after only eighteen months of PQ control.
