-- 09:13, June 20, 2015 (UTC) We're halfway through 2015 and the Journal is back with a midyear round up of this year's Kingdom Hearts news! Let's get to it, shall we? The year was begun in sadness with the death of legendary actor Leonard Nimoy in February. Nimoy, known by many as the classic character Mr. Spock in the sci-fi series Star Trek, was known by Kingdom Hearts fans as the voice of series' antagonist Master Xehanort. It was a particularly harsh blow to fans, after the death of Xehanort's Japanese voice actor, Chikao Ōtsuka, the month before. File:Kingdom Hearts Tribute Album 02.png

Unfortunately, the unpleasantness was to repeat in May, with the death of another legend: Christopher Lee, the original voice of Diz, aka Ansem the Wise. Known for his deep, booming voice and an impressive resume of roles in fantasy, horror, and more (such as playing evil sorcerer Sauron in the Lord of the Rings movie franchise), Lee is another devastating loss to the acting and Kingdom Hearts family. File:Master Xehanort KHBBS.pngFile:Ansem the Wise KHBBS.png In happier news, there have been a few exciting merchandise releases in the past several months. A Kingdom Hearts Tribute Album was released in Japan in March, featuring 10 Kingdom Hearts songs remastered into new versions. If you want to learn more about the album, visit the official website here. The cover art was drawn by official Disney artists and can be viewed below. File:Kingdom Hearts Tribute Album 02.png March also marked the release of the English version of Kingdom Hearts: The Novel. The second English release, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories The Novel, will be released this September. Now onto the main event: new gaming news! Fans rejoiced in May when a new iOS/Android Kingdom Hearts game was announced! The game is called Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ and is an adaptation of the already popular, Japan-only PC game Kingdom Hearts χ. The game is due for release in Japan this year and will be free to play, but in-game purchases will be available. An international version of this game is currently in development. Pictures of Unchained χ can be viewed here and here, a message from Tetsuya Nomura about the game can be read here, and the official Japanese website for the game is open. A trailer from June's E3 2015 event can also be viewed below. Speaking of E3, Kingdom Hearts fans were sent into a frenzy when some much anticipated updates were announced at the recent convention! Square Enix held their own special conference, where they had a few surprises in store regarding the upcoming game Kingdom Hearts III! That's right, not only was it revealed that a world based around the wildly popular movie Tangled was going to be included in the thrilling conclusion to the Xehanort Sega, but a trailer was released showing not only what that world would look like, but some of what we can expect regarding Heartless, fighting, and even Sora's new look! File:Sorakhiii.png Although a release date was not given, the level of excitement regarding the future release has risen tenfold. Are you excited for Kingdom Hearts III? If you're looking for more E3 coverage, be sure to head on over to KH13 for more! And now to wiki news! First up is the return of the Underdrome! This year we're taking a much less linear approach, with a slow paced collection of music based battles. Make sure you vote vote vote! Issue 4 of the Twilight Times has been released! We've got music debates, tutorials for signatures, incredibly important coverage of our April Fool's 2015 pranks and the usual fun slew of puzzles, chats, lists, and art! Make sure you check this issue out, comment, and, if you're so inclined, we sure wouldn't say no to a little volunteering for the next issue. What better way to close off a journal entry than with a little celebration? What are we celebrating? Why, the promotion of our fantastic user Aixon of course! Aixon has been promoted to moderator for his general awesomeness (work ethic was a factor in there too, I guess). In fact, it was Aixon's awesomeness that blinded us for the past five months and kept us from reaching the journal to officially announce his promotion. Thus is the effect of Aixon. Congrats buddy! And that's all for now! We look forward to bringing you more KH news in the future!
