  • Pin was a yellow-white dwarf star located on the border of the Expansion Region. It was first spotted by telescopes and its coordinates determined in the early days of the Galactic Republic, but relatively little was known about it until it was analyzed by a space probe in 21,630 BBY. It was already known at the time to have had four gas giant planets, but the probe discovered two more, as well as four dwarf planets, and also provided the Republic's first information about the system's moons. The system was named the Border System. Republic scientists estimated that Pin is about six billion years into its nine billion year yellow-white dwarf life.

  • A pinfall, a pin, or a fall (the first term most commonly used in wrestling) is a victory condition in various forms of wrestling that is met by holding an opponent's shoulders on the wrestling mat for a prescribed period of time. In wrestling, a pinfall is a common method of winning a match and typically must be held for a count of three by the referee (though the staged and entertainment-based nature of the sport makes this a somewhat ephemeral requirement).
  • A pin is a situation in the game of chess wherein a piece must remain in its current position to prevent the capture of a more powerful piece behind it. This type of force is most effective when the pinned piece is protecting a king, an absolute pin. tright = For example, see the position to the right. Black's king resides on its starting square, e8. A Black knight on e6. White has played rook to e1, threatening to take the knight. This prevents Black from bringing his knight further into play, by pinning it to the king. Moving it would be an illegal move. See also: skewer.
  • The Pin is a missile weapon that fires four missiles to a maximum range of 500 meters. The Pin requires target lock-on, otherwise the shots will fire straight from the Pin and detonate at the maximum range. This advantage of splash damage is offset by their weaker overall damage than other light non-missile weapons. Hitting the enemy before ducking back behind cover is the most commonly used tactic especially as the 12 second reload time can leave the player's robot vulnerable. == Upgrade details ==__NOEDITSECTION__
