The Black Sea, also known as the Coal Sea or as the Crow's Sea/Crow's See is the sea around the Crow, and Nightrock Isle, also bordering the Bightlands/Bitelands, and Swallownia in Lobott. It borders the South Mouth to the north, and the Free Seas south of Pecker's Peck. It is home to many strong, and powerful dragonstirs, and for this reason buildings on its coasts are built short, and stout, and square. Mudslides, avalanches, and wyrmwaves (tsunamis) constantly ravage its coasts, and for that reason very few towns are built on them, with the exception of Crowtonne which has been spared all, save the occasional dragonstir.

  • The Black Sea is an inland sea between Europe and Western Asia.
  • The Black Sea is a large body of water surrounded by Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia and Turkey. It connects to the Mediterranean Sea and separates eastern Europe from western Asia. It was the site of a near-tragic accident in 1799 when a Ukrainian Ironbelly Dragon carried off a sailing ship, which was empty at the time.
  • The Black Sea is a sea in eastern Europe, located between Russia, Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia and Ukraine. A CFA-44 Nosferatu was sighted by Western satellites flying over the Romanian portion of the Black Sea in the 1970s. During the uprising of the New Russian Federation in 2015, the Russian Prime Minister was taken hostage and guarded by the Black Sea Fleet. A coalition of NATO and pro-government Russian troops rescued him and sank the entire fleet.
  • The Black Sea is a body of water on Earth. On April 24, 1995, the Soviet aircraft carrier Sergei G. Gorshkov went on a demonstration run in the Black Sea when it was destroyed by an alien creature. (TNG novel: Ghost Ship) In 2370, Worf and Deanna Troi used a holoprogram to experience a resort on the Black Sea. (TNG episode & novelization: All Good Things...)
  • Its northern coast was known as the Shore of Sand while its southern coast was named the Shore of Stone. Black Fingers Forest was located along its northeastern shore. The sea was fed by the Black River from the southwest. Towerpoint overlooked the sea from the southeast.
  • The most striking feature of this cold map is of course the sea itself. It is narrow near the edges of the map but turns into a large round circle at its center. Ferrying troops across the sea into enemy territory is of course easier where the water is narrower so maintaining control of these areas is critical. Since animals are scarce on land, the sea is also the most reliable source of food as it is abundant with fish. The shoreline has no elevation and few natural barriers so it will be difficult to defend against any enemy that manages to land.
  • The Black Sea was an inland sea between southeastern Europe and Anatolia. It was actually a distant arm of the Atlantic Ocean by way of the Mediterranean Sea. It was connected to the Mediterranean by the Bosporus and the Sea of Marmara, and to the Sea of Azov by the Strait of Kerch. The notorious pirate Jack Sparrow sailed across the Black Sea at some point before he joined the East India Trading Company. Ammand the Corsair was the Pirate Lord of the Black Sea during the Fourth Brethren Court.
  • The Black Sea is bounded by Europe, Anatolia and the Caucasus and is ultimately connected to the Atlantic Ocean via the Mediterranean and the Aegean Seas and various straits. The Bosphorus Strait connects it to the Sea of Marmara, and the Strait of the Dardanelles connects that sea to the Aegean Sea region of the Mediterranean. These waters separate eastern Europe and western Asia. The Black Sea is also connected to the Sea of Azov by the Strait of Kerch.
  • The Black Sea was a sea on Earth. This sea at night was always a stimulating experience for Worf. In 2370, aboard the USS Enterprise-D, Worf and Deanna Troi went on a date in the holographic program Black Sea at Night. They were walking barefoot together on a beach along this sea listening to balalaika music. (TNG: "All Good Things..." )
  • Black Sea is an XTC album released on September 12, 1980. It spawned five singles - "Generals And Majors" (released August 9, 1980 and reached No. 32 on the UK singles chart and No. 104 on the Billboard Pop chart), "Towers Of London" (released October 10, 1980 and reached No. 31 on the UK singles chart), "Sgt. Rock (Is Going To Help Me)" (released December 5, 1980 and reached No. 16 on the UK singles chart), "Love At First Sight" (released January 23, 1981 in Canada only) and a re-recording of "Respectable Street" (released March 13, 1981). The band re-recorded the latter song to change a few words as per request by the BBC - who ended up never playing the clean version anyway.

(TNG: "All Good Things..." ) Retroactive continuity; A 20th century-era statistical map of Europe, Africa, and Asia was stored in the USS Enterprise library computer in 2254. On this map, a body of water, located between Western Asia and Eastern Europe, was labeled as the "Black Sea". This map was among the materials viewed by the Talosians when they scanned the Enterprise computer. (TOS: "The Cage" )
