It was a silent night, with only the distant sound of vultures in the desert. Here, near the border of Pruple Lotus Swamp and Khopshef province, a lonely cabin stood with only a dim light giving away it's presence. All seemed peacefull this night, even more then usual. Yet the smell of death hung in the air, coming from the cabin. Inside the cabin sat a blonde woman at what looked to be a table having dinner. She appeared to be as if in late twenties or early thirties of age, clad in a suit of heavy armor. Although she did resemble the traits of a once beautifull woman, the area where the armor ended and her flesh began, heavily scarred flesh revealed. Appearing as burned tissue from a fire, as if the flesh was not entirely of her own.

  • It was a silent night, with only the distant sound of vultures in the desert. Against the cabin wall sat a man, a slim Stygian of middle age, in a pool of his own blood. His trousers were ripped and legs injured, perhaps broken. He must have been unconcious for quite some time since the cut across the lenght of his belly started to reveal his insides. With some of his intestines touching the dirty floor of his cabin he looked up at the woman, who returned his stare with nothing more then a grin. After a few attempts and groans he was finally able to produce enough sound. “Who ... are .... you?” The woman looked down at him giving him a faint smile. “Does it matter who I am really? Obviously i am the person who broke your legs and gutted you like a pig, I am sure that much is clear to you, not? It seems that I am am your demise, surely you can think of some reason that dried up snake you worship wanted your ... hmmm... lets call it ... untimely ending? But if you are wondering if i have a name, yes I do. You may call me, if you can get it over those lips of yours at least, Shirikari.” The shock had worn off by now and he seemed to realize that he was nearing his life's end. The blood kept running out of his wound, although at a much slower pace now, starting to thicken on the dirt making an almost black pool of mud. He let his hand slide down towards the wound over his belly, feeling a part of his lower intestine laying in the blackened mud. He quickly gave up trying to pry them back into the wound, realizing all hope of surviving this encounter had fled him. All this seemed to amuze Shirikari greatly she had to surpress the laughter. When the poor man heard the laughing being smothered by his slayer he looked again, this time with an angry but pained look on his face. “Why ... have ...” “Oh I suppose you will want to know everything now!” Shirikari interrupted him abrubtly. She wore an annoyed expression on her face as she tossed the baked piece of vulture meat back onto her plate. Turning the chair she sat on so she faced her victim, staring him straight into his eyes. After a brief moment he let his head slide down slowly, trying to make a last attempt to avoid her icy stare. Taking a deep breath Shirikari's expression returned to a somewhat more relaxed state. “It is only a common gesture to grant a dying man his last wish, so very well. I might aswell tell you everything since you won't be able to tell any others anyhow in a few days” A wider smile appeared on her face, the thought of this man slowly dying seemed to please her greatly. “You might wonder, I am quite sure you are, how it is possible that a person can do this to you? True I was not born in the state as I am today, yet I am what I am. Nothing will be able to change that ever. “ Almost entering a dreaming state she let out a long sigh and continued. “It seems almost like a distant dream that i was once a truely happy woman, a young devoted women to Mitra ... a fool ... an ant... Vermin!” The dreamy state was quicly wiped away and replaced by a darker expression, almost seeming enraged by the though of worshipping a God. “I was once a diluted fool like you are now. Are you truly that gullible to believe that a God watches over you? Be it a eunich as Mitra, the mountain troll Crom, or that decietfull animal you call Set, you still remain the same fool. Did I kill you as a symbol to some other God you do not know of? No, I did not. Camping near the border the past few days I have seen you daily to go hunting vultures in the desert. Watching all of your moves unnoticed i followed you on your hunting trip. I became to hate you, despise you even. Your very existence became a thorn in my sight. And I took care of that thorn didn't I?” She gazed down towards her victim, again with a slightly amuzed but morbid expression. “Oh yes ... I took care of that thorn.” After a slight pause of satisfaction so continued telling her story. “So you see now. Not all people are that great a coward to hide behind the face of their Gods, killing and slaughtering in their name. Hmmm ... where was I? Oh yes, I see now. Once, a long time ago, being as diluted as you are now, I became the victim of men killing in the name of their Gods. Defiling my home in aquilonia they stripped me of all my posessions, killing all that was dear to me and leaving me for dead. After surviving their killing spree I begged all that was holy what had caused this punishment. I travelled all around the world of hyboria seeking for an answer, the same answer I gave you a while ago. After travelling around for years I came to stygia, strangers are not very welcome here so I hid my true identity. Travelling in the streets veiled, begging for food I started to realize the corruption of all these holy men. I could have slapped myself right there for being so blind all this time. I did not wander the streets of khemi any longer and travelled further into the swamplands. Silently i cursed the Gods for having forsaken this world. My devotion turned into rage, and not much longer into a blind rage against anything claimed holy. Quite some time passed in the swamps where i did the most peculiar of discoveries. I have no idea how deep into them i went but this skeleton I had never seen before. At first resembling human, yet when i approached more lizard like features came to show. How lovely to find the freaks of nature in your darkest moment. Yet there was something more in the area, like an aura even I could sense. A pure hatred that matched, or even surpassed my own. Deeper i went into the swamps untill i found nothing more then mere stone scattered across the swamp floor. As if a once great building, monument or temple has been destroyed, annihilated to make sure nothing would remain of it. And nothing did remain ... just a pile of old crumbling bricks with an odd looking skeleton nearby. Finally having reached the point of no return in my rage, I fell to the swamp floor and cried out. If you are Gods then I will become the Devil! It was then that something came out of the swamp. Offering me a partnership, a pact even, to both aid our mutual goal. Even to this day I still do not fully understand all the why's involved, neither do I still wonder about them. I am gratefull for being able to execute my revenge, even if it was at a small cost. As you may have noticed not all of my flesh is the same. Some of it is me ... and some of it is slightly more then me” Staring down at some of the pieces of scarred tissue revealing Shirikari took a deep breath. It was then that she tasted a feint smell of rot in the damp air. “Oh dearie me. It seems i have been going on for so long I did not even notice your passing. Oh well, at least you won't be able to tell anyone.” 07:15, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
