| - W. Campbell Supply Co. was founded in 1967 by the late Whitman S. (Woody) Campbell, (1914-1993). The company originally sold and serviced fire apparatus and equipment. The business was started in Woody’s home and quickly became a Seagrave Fire Apparatus dealership covering the State of New Jersey and Eastern portions of Pennsylvania. The Company’s very first employee Spencer Fritz was hired and the Campbell Service Department was established. The business became extremely successful quickly. Hundreds of Seagrave Pumpers and Aerial Ladders were sold in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It was then the City of New York, Long Island and Eastern Pennsylvania were added to the dealership’s sales and service areas, it was also at this time that our first outside sales person was hired, Ted Jensen along with master mechanic Tom Derry. The company’s sales volume steadily increased through the seventies including the sale of thirty-one (31) Snorkel units in the State of New Jersey in a five (5) year period. As Woody built and expanded the company Scott Campbell, his son, came aboard at a very young age and worked in a many different capacities until 1980. It was at this point that Scott started working as a full-time apprentice mechanic and began grooming for eventual ownership of the Company. The 1980’s heaped tremendous change for the company, a number of additional shop and sales personnel including its current Vice President, Charles “Chuck” Yeoman. Many steps forward were taken in the mid 80’s including numerous multiple fire truck orders for the City of New York and the City of Philadelphia as well as the addition of four (4) road service vehicles. In 1999, the ownership decided to once again undergo a major expansion which took the company into the commercial truck business. Freightliner Trucks, a Daimler Trucks North America brand was added to the Dealership product line up. As in the case with the Fire Truck line Campbell Freightliner achieved success quickly. In July 2007, Campbell Freightliner, LLC acquired its second full line dealership in Newburgh, NY. In 2009, became a dealer for Crimson/Spartan ERV Fire Apparatus. In 2011, acquired a heavy truck repair shop in Port Newark, NJ. In September 2013, the Dealership moved to a brand new state of the art facility located in South Brunswick, NJ.
