Sybil Hussie, of Manchester, England, was a physical anthropologist aboard the William Howells. She'd married biologist George Davies just prior to the ship leaving Terra. When Ramon Castillo presented his hypothesis that the people of Kussara spoke to their gods because they were not truly conscious beings, Hussie and Davies were both the most skeptical. Hussie was particularly scornful in the beginning, although she'd softened some by the time the conversation had ended. One of the points Castillo used to prove his hypothesis involved Bill, Hussie's cat back in Manchester.
