"Can you hear them? My babies speak to me! For I am Nature's soldier!" -- Poison Ivy Pamela Isley was a professer trained in plantlife and animal genetics at Gotham University. She worked for the University for a short time but was fired for her radical lectures about how humanity was poisoning the Earth and nature should always run its course. She became an eco-terrorist, and tried to bomb a GothCorp research centre which was experimenting with both animal DNA and plants. She was almost apprehended by guards but was exposed to an untested biological weapon prototype that used plant chemicals as a basis for its effects. The weapon did not kill her, instead it mutated her into a half human-half plant creature who could control plantlife to do her will. This became the origin of Poison Ivy -
