Alexander Karpovtsev (born April 7, 1970 in Moscow, USSR) is a retired ice hockey player and currently assistant coach for Ak Bars Kazan. He played for the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders and Florida Panthers. He, Alexei Kovalev, Sergei Zubov and Sergei Nemchinov, were the first Russian players to have their names engraved on the Stanley Cup winning it in 1994. He played in 596 NHL games and scored 34 goals and 154 assists. he also played in 74 playoff games, scoring 4 goals and 14 assists.
