The 1968 Asheville 300 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at New Asheville Speedway on May 31, 1968. Richard Petty led wire-to-wire in the event, leading all 300 laps in route to a one lap victory on Buddy Baker. Eventual season champion David Pearson finished 21st after a crash. Stats
