- Scots: somebody or somebodies from Scotland. The word "Scots" is confusing. It poses the question, "One Scots? Or many Scots?" Many Scots don't like to answer this question because they are sneaky. If you are ever invited to a Scots dinner party, bring backup. You would have no idea how many Scots are to be present, and they just might try to behead you like in Highlander.
