(DS9: "Necessary Evil") In 2370, Quark organized a charity racquetball match between Miles O'Brien and Julian Bashir and claimed that the proceeds from wagering, minus a fee, would be donated to the War Orphans Fund. Similarly, an auction in 2373 donated its proceeds to the fund – proceeds that exceeded expectations when Dr. Giger bid ten bars of latinum for an Andorian chest. (DS9: "Rivals", "In the Cards") Rom donated his entire life savings to the fund that same year when he feared that his profits and life as a Ferengi might prevent his marriage to Leeta.
