Bhunivelze (ブーニベルゼ, Būniberuze) is the name of a mysterious and immensely powerful warrior, utterly selfless, who carries a boundless desire to do good and destroy evil, whose first incarnation had appeared a great many years in the past, during years which would rise into the founding of Lucis. Bhunivelze is commonly addressed as the God of Light (輝ける神, Kagayakeru Kami, lit. "Shining God") and was the greatest ally of the first King of Lucis, and is largely responsible for the ascendancy of the kingdom and the royal bloodline of Lucis Caelum. In times of great upheaval, it is said that Bhunivelze will surely show his face to the world, to punish those with wicked hearts who would dare threaten the Kingdom of Lucis and its lineage of rulers. His latest incarnation is Darius Strife.
