Camp Echo Rock is a sleepaway camp in a wooded area, far away from Sesame Street. Big Bird spent a week at camp in 1982 (Season 14), and made friends with Rusty, another camper. Aunt May is the Camp Director, and Big Bird's counselor was named Mickey. Activities include baseball, hiking, swimming and telling stories around the campfire. At the end of the week, Big Bird was awarded the Camp Echo Rock Swimming Award. Sesame Street Magazine printed a three-page spread on Big Bird's trip to camp in issue 125 (June 1983).
