The Quintarad was a star formation within the otherwise barren Void of Aogros region of Wild Space. Unusually for most star systems, it was composed of five stars orbiting each other in a whirling tangle of plasma. Because of its unusual nature, it was thought by astrophysicists to be artificial, and possibly be a creation of the Celestials. However, no probes had ever survived any journey into the formation.
