  • Tinross, enraged by the growing corruption in the Senate, allied himself with the radical Ratann-Narn Party, which had ties to the Traviss Corporation. Utilizing ancient Rakatan technology combined with their own scientific breakthroughs, they began construction of the Oblivion's Gate, a device capable of generating a black hole. Tinross' plans hit a snag on Korjainni. After kidnapping the Prime Minister in order to distract local police forces, Tinross used his plans to aquire and smuggle offworld some valuable military hardware needed to complete the Oblivion's Gate. But his plot was discovered by the Jedi Tion Doran and Jarat Shimell'elio with help from Zed Kridd, a mercenary that had been hired by the Traviss Corporation to perform services relating to the Oblivion's Gate project. He had also been furnished with an encrypted holodisk which gave a detailed outline of the scheme. Kridd had betrayed them, and directed the two Jedi to the Traviss Corporation. Not wanting his plans to be revealed, Tinross and his underlings pursued them through the Traviss Corporation complex, a veritable labyrinth filled with security droids, checkpoints, and security doors. Tinross eventually caught up with them and engaged them in a duel, but was defeated when Jarat Shimell'elio severed the Dark Jedi’s right arm. As the two Jedi prepared to take Tinross into custody, a squadron of security guards burst in and surrounded them. Not willing to take sentient lives, the two Jedi fled, deflecting blaster bolts into the door controls as the left, shutting the doors. Tinross and his agents then pursued them across Korjainni while they attempted to find the Korjainni Prime Minister. The two Jedi later allowed themselves two be captured by him, in order to find the Prime Minister. When they escaped with the Prime Minister, Tinross left Korjainni with the stolen hardware, intending to complete Oblivion's Gate before the contents of the holodisk were decrypted and the plan revealed.
