  • The Plains of D'hassa (see the last image of the slideshow above) lay to the south of the Lenoir and Loughor Valleys. They stretch from the border of Aquilonia in the east and to the Mawrth Torrenthi border in the west. The plains are bordered on the south by the Mourne Mountains which also serves to divide them from Mawrth Torrenthi. The geography and topography of the plains varies. Mostly they are rolling and undulating grasslands dotted with small rivers and lakes fed by underground aquifers. Low hills, foothills and even small ridges or mountains surround them. Here and there are small to large outcroppings of massive boulders, many forming natural henges (stone circles) and seemingly safe havens from that which prowls the night. There are also small, dark and dense forests. Climate is temperate with four distinct seasons. Winters tend to be very cold and blustery but only light snowfall usually occurring after the turn of the year. Summers are hot and dry with spring and fall being the wettest seasons in regards to rainfall amounts. Additionally, there is a wind that blows nearly constantly from the west (it can be likened to California's Santa Ana winds). It ranges from a steady breeze up to near hurricane force winds. The plains are rich and fertile, providing excellent grazing for farm animals. Most plains dwellers share the great pastures it provides and cooperatively managed farms and ranches are common.
