Its high rate of fire, while effective at close range, limits its effective range to close quarters combat. Therefore, the gun is best used to complement longer range weapons. The T4 AMP has the highest rate of fire of all infantry weapons in Planetside 2. The weapon shreds opponents at close range, yet its rate of fire means it burns through ammo quickly, and isn't useful taking on multiple foes. One major downfall to this weapon is the low damage, resulting in a 10-shot kill, the most shots needed in the game. Despite the 937RPM fire rate, the theoretical time to kill (assuming ten consecutive shots hit and the opponent does not have Nanoweave armor) is 0.58s. This is much higher than the typical carbine or SMG. Generally, it is not an upgrade over the default Repeater.
