Kushluk (or Kuclug) was a Naiman prince and a rival of Genghis Khan who later joined the Kara-Khitai, represented by the Mongols. He was best known for usurping the throne of Kara-Khitai from his father-in-law, but later defeated by Genghis Khan's forces and was beheaded. He is portrayed in-game by a Cavalier unit but has stronger stats and has its own icon. Technologies that benefit cavalry also benefit Kushluk but he is not affected by civilization bonuses. As with all heroes, he can self regenerate and cannot be converted.

  • Kushluk (or Kuclug) was a Naiman prince and a rival of Genghis Khan who later joined the Kara-Khitai, represented by the Mongols. He was best known for usurping the throne of Kara-Khitai from his father-in-law, but later defeated by Genghis Khan's forces and was beheaded. In Age of Empires II, he is the main antagonist of the second scenario of the Genghis Khan campaign, and the player must kill him to win the game. He and his personal guards are staying behind the Kara-Khitai base, and if either the player gets near him or defeated Kara-Khitai, he would bring his personal guards to flee back to their own base. He is portrayed in-game by a Cavalier unit but has stronger stats and has its own icon. Technologies that benefit cavalry also benefit Kushluk but he is not affected by civilization bonuses. As with all heroes, he can self regenerate and cannot be converted.
