Gravity Control Centers were structures on Cloud City in the gas giant Bespin. Six of them were used to regulate the city's gravity, and if disabled, the city could be destroyed. In 3 ABY, the city was attacked by the Galactic Empire to take control of the city after Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian betrayed Darth Vader. The Rebel Alliance defenders attempted to destroy the Gravity Control Generators to prevent the city's takeover.

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. Alternate stories are noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. Note: The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon within the Star Wars Legends continuity. The Imperial strike force took control of over half of the Gravity Control Generators to prevent their destruction, and ultimately took control of all of Cloud City. Assumption ends here.
