IACCBBS went online in 1985. It was a public bulletin board system operated on behalf of the Irish Amateur Computer Club. The system ran on a Commodore 64 microcomputer, with ultimately 3 floppy drives for storage (1541, 8250 dual drive). The system software (SIBBS) was developed by club member Fergus McDonald and was written entirely in assembly language. It provided a combination of command line interpreter and menu driven interfaces, and supported access from text-based and Viewdata style terminals.
