| - Karen Fisher is the former Headmistress of Waterloo Road, replacement of Rachel Mason and predecessor to Michael Byrne. She is the mother of Jess and Harry Fisher. She is also the mother of Bex who later appears. As Karen arrives at the school she is delighted to be taking over from such a fantastic role model as Rachel Mason. She is arrived by Jonah Kirby arguing with his ex-wife over whether the choice to send their children, Ruth and Jonah to comprehensive school is a good idea. In Karen's first episode, her first plan is to get rid of the cooler and start and new strike system with someone getting three strikes means they are out of the school for good. On Karen's first day in the new job, new girl Ruth Kirby walks out of the school and goes missing for over six hours until she is found in darkness by Francesca Montoya and Tom Clarkson. Whilst the search party is being carried out, Karen is getting flashbacks of what it felt like when she lost her daughter Bex. Since the beginning of the new series, she has shown an unhidden fondness for site manager, Rob Scotcher She has recently been informed that the LA is going to shut down the school, but the only reason they know so much information about the school is because english teacher, Eleanor Chaudry, did some spying. Although the school does stay open in the end, she gets the sack, and is replaced by Michael Byrne
