He became jealous of Miles "Tails" Prower, who had "[Tom's] share in the tails department", and decided to go one better by constructing three mechanical tails and calling himself Kat O'Three Tails. He used his three mechanical, prehensile tails to perform chores for other people (for example painting a fence, washing a window and unblocking a sink all at once). However, this upset local tradesmen who felt that "Kat" was stealing their jobs. One beaver plumber tried to have Kat killed by hiring a killer robot from Mike O'Chip's Hire-A-Bot, but Kat was rescued by Tails. At the same time, Kat's three tails malfunctioned due to interference from the robot, exposing his plan. • Jealous of the fact that Miles "Tails" Prower had two tails and he was left without any, Manx decided to go one better and created three electronic tails for himself. Manx impressed Tails by painting a fence, washing windows and unblocking a sink with little effort, but scoffed at the idea of using them to fly.

  • Jealous of the fact that Miles "Tails" Prower had two tails and he was left without any, Manx decided to go one better and created three electronic tails for himself. He then opted to show off his talents, establishing himself as a handyman that could carry out three chores at once. Manx impressed Tails by painting a fence, washing windows and unblocking a sink with little effort, but scoffed at the idea of using them to fly. However, his prowess with odd jobs was irritating the other skilled workers in town. Manx's neighbour, completely unaware that "Kat O'Three Tails" was merely an alias of Manx, rang Mike O'Chip's Hire-A-Bot and rented a robot assassin to kill the boaster. Tails suggested that Manx could use his tails to escape, but they quickly malfunctioned when subjected to electrical interference from the robot, revealing the false nature of the tails. Manx was soon captured whilst Tails futilely attempted to destroy the droid, but they were both spared when the robot failed to comprehend two "multi-tailed targets" and crashed. By the end of the adventure, Manx had learned not to be jealous and was praised by Tails for helping others. It was suggested, however, that Manx would not turn to mechanical tails in future.
