Heaviside is named for a particular species of fish native to Krittain Major that is characterized by a squat, flat profile, and stays close to the sea floor. It possesses a quick temper, and is not known for being gregarious around other fish. It is not coincidental that Krittish officers on the Admiralty arranged for an all-Minor Krit crew aboard this sloop.
