Iku Nagae is a heroic female youkai from Touhou who serves as the messenger of the Dragon Palace. Her job is to observe the daily mood of the earth's atmosphere. She somewhat questions why humans and youkai fight/duel as a part of their daily life. During the events of Scarlet Weather Rhapsody she finds out that a strong earthquake is going to occur in Gensokyo, so she decides to warn the residents. Afterwards, Yukari tells her that the culprit is hiding in the Hakurei Shrine. She then goes back to the shrine and finds Tenshi, who has just inserted a keystone to prevent the earthquake. Iku questions this and thinks of Tenshi as having been "spoiled a bit too much", so she decides to punish her.

| - Iku Nagae es una mensajera del Palacio del Dragon, cuyo trabajo es observar el estado diario de la atmosfera. Ella se pregunta a veces porqué los humanos y los youkai hacen de las peleas/duelos parte de su vida diaria. Durante los sucesos de Scarlet Weather Rhapsody ella descubre que un fuerte terremoto azota a Gensokyo, así que decide advertir a los habitantes. Luego de eso, Yukari le cuenta a ella que la culpable se esconde en el Templo Hakurei. Ella se dirige al templo y encuentra a Tenshi, que recien acababa de poner la piedra angular para prevenir el terremoto. Iku le cuestiona lo que hizo y piensa que Tenshi ha sido "demasiado consentida", así que decide castigarla.

Ela de alguma forma se pergunta o por quê dos humanos e youkais lutarem e/ou duelarem como parte de seu cotidiano. Durante os eventos de Scarlet Weather Rhapsody ela descobre que um grande terremoto vai ocorrer em Gensokyo, então, ela decide avisar aos moradores. Posteriormente, Yukari diz a ela que o culpado está se escondendo no Santuário Hakurei. Com isso ela volta ao santuário e encontra Tenshi, que tinha acabado de inserir uma chave de pedra para impedir o terremoto. Iku a questiona e acha que Tenshi foi "muito mimada" e decide puni-la.
