Omnipotent Statism was an international movement during the middle of the twenty-third century that advocated strict government control over the populous and decried the instability and ineffectiveness of liberal democracy. The movement was a response to political decay and chaos that reigned in Terra during the time. Omnipotent Statism was never a united movement and is only a retrospective term for a number of parties and ideologies that existed and still exist in Terra. Some movements that it included are Nuncirism, Fascism, Imperialism, Panterranism, and Seldonism. In the twenty-fourth century, however, the term has been largely replaced by the phrase Perpetual Omnistatism to encompass a particular strain of totalitarian thought including the Panterranism, Nuncirism, Archonism, and Are
