If Tiptup had been introduced in the early 1990's, there's no telling how far he could have gone in the video game business. Turtles were hot property back then, and Tiptup could have been the Mr. (....). However, he wasn't introduced until 1997, much to the disgruntlement of the legions of Tiptup fans out there. In all of the Donkey Kong Universe, never has there been a cult favorite like Tiptup.

  • If Tiptup had been introduced in the early 1990's, there's no telling how far he could have gone in the video game business. Tiptup was born and raised on Timber's Island. Hanging out with his group of friends (Timber, Pipsy, Bumper, and the rest), it was clear to see that he was nowhere near as brave as they. This came to a disadvantage, when the main hobby (and the island's source of income) was racing. Tiptup hated the fast, dangerous cars and breakneck speeds. Still, his cowardliness didn't consume his entire life, and when a job was in dire need of getting done, Tiptup would (reluctantly) never back down. When the evil genie/wizard Wizpig invaded the island, Tiptup's group of friends banded together (with the help of Diddy Kong and others) to overthrow the tyrant. Racing through the sealed tracks, Tiptup shocked everyone when he buckled down and didn't let the fear of dying in a bloody explosion of fire stop him. He proved his worth and suddenly he was no longer such a wimp (although he still wasn't the bravest little soldier). However, even when Wizpig was defeated, Tiptup's troubles weren't over yet. Wizpig had destroyed many homes through the island's mountain during his reign of destruction, and Tiptup's faimly's house was one of them. Deciding to leave the island, Tiptup and his family immigrated with a large number of others towards other places around the DK Isles. They settled in Bubble Gloop Swamp, a marshy area that could be reached through Gruntilda's Lair sitting above Spiral Mountain. Living there, Tiptup got in touch with his love of music and started a choir. To practice in peace and quiet, they got the giant turtle Tanktup to agree to let them rehearse and practice INSIDE of him. It was unusual to say the least. Though Tiptup didn't think anyone would find the choir, one day his old buddy from the races against Wizpig dropped by. Banjo Bear, along with pal Kazooie, was on his quest to free his sister Tooty from the evil Gruntilda. Tiptup had found a jiggy puzzle piece, which Banjo and Kazooie needed to magically unlock areas in their battle against the witch, that he made Banjo earn in an interesting music lesson. Banjo also found a honeycomb piece needed to add extra health to Banjo/Kazooie high above inside Tanktup. Tiptup has been spending his days of late mostly with his choir in Bubble Gloop Swamp. What awaits this fan favorite? If the millions and the millions of Tiptup fans had their way, it would mean that he would get his own game. If the wacky employees of Rareware had their way, it would mean death in a Chinese prison. But don't shed a tear for our turtle friend. Keep on truckin', Tiptup. Keep on truckin'.
