John Joseph "Jack" Cawthra (August 12, 1879 - December 20, 1951) was a Canadian born hockey player. After moving to England to study in 1894, he demonstrated the Canadian form of hockey to his fellow students. While attending Cambridge University, he captained the ice hockey team from 1900 to 1902. Cawthra later went on to play for the venerable Princes Ice Hockey Club. He served as the Canadian delegate at the 1912 LIHG Congress. Cawthra was a member of the British National Team at the 1913 LIHG Championship.
