The Pike is the minor antagonist in the 1963 film, The Sword in the Stone. He is a gigantic and slender green fish, who tries to eat Wart and Merlin in their fish forms. He first appears when he follows the frog, Merlin, and Wart. The frog flees from the pike, but not Wart, who is chased, and saved by Merlin, who is locked in a knight's helmet. Wart tricks the pike into getting his teeth caught in a chain, and hides, until the pike frees. Meanwhile, he corners Wart behind a wall when Wart tries to defend himself with an arrow, but finds that when the pike vanishes, he accidentally sees the pike, and screams in fear. He manages to put the arrow in the pike's teeth, and quickly escapes the pike, who breaks the arrow apart, and continues to pursue Wart, who cries for help, until Merlin's pet

He manages to put the arrow in the pike's teeth, and quickly escapes the pike, who breaks the arrow apart, and continues to pursue Wart, who cries for help, until Merlin's pet owl Archimedes comes, and tries to escape Wart, but swims out of the water, and flees with Wart from the pike, who slams into a rock before his prey escapes. A very similar Pike appears in Filmation's Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night as an extremely minor antagonist. It is unknown if he is meant to actually be a friendly cameo of the Pike from The Sword and the Stone, or if it is unwillingly and by pure chance that they drew their pike similarly to what Disney had done before.
