- Battle.net is Blizzard's online match-making component for several of their game franchises. The network features both PvP and co-op play. Battle.net is supported for Diablo, StarCraft, Diablo II, WarCraft II Battle.net Edition, WarCraft III, StarCraft II and Diablo III including expansions, except the Hellfire expansion for Diablo I. The network got a complete overhaul with the release of StarCraft II.
- Since the successful launch of Battle.net many companies have published online game services mimicking Blizzard's service package and the user interface.
- Blizzard Entertainment's online servers, over which games like Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo can be played against people from all over the world. The idea of spamming fans of a particular character or game is most commonly associated with Battle.net, the assumption being that if enough annoying halfwits post "HEY GUYZ VOTE 4 DIABLO ON GAMEFAQS.COM" every thirty seconds in every single server/room/game currently being played, hordes of people will come and vote for them. Or, possibly, vote against them just to piss off the spammers.
