TANOS is a type of flash memory manufacturing technology, announced by Samsung on Sep. 14, 2006. It purportedly allows for smaller device size, specifically, below the 40 nm node. The name comes from Tantalum Aluminum Nitride Oxide Semiconductor, so it is like the more generic SONOS.
