After Jeremy's Powertest of the car, The Stig took it around the track for a time. The car set a time of 1 minute, 20.4 seconds, which although very quick, was not enough to set a lap record, mainly caused by the car's lack of downforce. Then, during an all-out time attack, the power-steering system failed (according to The Man In The White Suit, The Stig's/Ben Collin's autobiography) and sent the CCX off at the Follow Through at 130mph, crashing through a tyre wall. Koenigsegg took the car back to Sweden, and fitted a rear wing to aid downforce. The car made a return to Top Gear, and set the lap record of 1 minute, 17.9 seconds.
