The planet was the home of a Federation colony in the 24th century. By 2366, the colony had a population of eleven thousand. A species of tea native to this planet was cultivated by the colonists and brewed for drinking. The colony lacked interstellar spacecraft. Die Bewohner des Planeten versuchen sich gegen die Husnock zu wehren, außer ein Douwd, ein fremdes Wesen, welches in der Gestalt von Kevin Uxbridge auf dem Planet lebt. Seine Spezies besitzt außergewöhnliche Kräfte, lehnt aber die Gewalt ab. Er versucht es auf dem friedlichen Weg die Angreifer aufzuhalten. Aber der Douwd scheitert und die Husnock töten alle Kolonisten und verwüsten den Planeten vollständig. Zu den Toten gehört auch Rishon Uxbridge, die menschliche Frau von "Kevin". Aus Rache über den Verlust vernichtet der Douwd die gesamte Husnock-Spezies, insgesamt 50 Milliarden Lebewesen werden getötet. Auf den verwüsteten und öden Planet erhält er sich die Illusion von seinem früheren Leben als Kevin Uxbridge mit seiner Frau Rishon. Kurze Zeit später erreicht die USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) den Planeten. Scans zeigen keine Spur von Leben auf dem Planeten mit Ausnahme des Anwesens von Kevin Uxbridge. Ein Außenteam erkundet das Anwesen und trifft auf ein älteres Ehepaar, die als einzige den Angriff überlebt haben. Captain Jean-Luc Picard findet kurze Zeit später die Wahrheit über das Ehepaar heraus. Der Douwd gesteht Picard seine schwere Schuld. Picard lässt den schuldgeplagten Douwd auf Delta Rana IV zurückkehren und dieser lebt dort weiter in seiner Illusion als Kevin Uxbridge mit seiner Frau Rishon Uxbridge. (TNG: )
