There he finally played an NHL game, but just one as he spent most of the 1981-82 and 1982-83 seasons in the minors. In 1983 he signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Penguins and played 13 games for the Pens and scored his first NHL points - a goal and 5 assists. He was playing for the Baltimore Skipjacks when he suffered a career-ending eye injury in December, 1983.
