  • Saint Peter (aka as Peter Rabbit, aka as Peter Da Rock, aka Peter The Roman, aka Peter The Pope) was the first Pope of Christianity.
  • Saint Peter or Peter the Apostle (c. 1-64 CE), along with his brother Andrew, was the first disciple recruited by Jesus (Mk. 1:16-18), the same passage from the Skeptics Annotated Bible. He was present at many of the more significant events mentioned in the Gospels and was a central character in Acts of the Apostles. Traditionally he was the first pope. About the only thing that can be said for certain about Peter, however, is that Paul mentioned God appointing him to preach to the Jews (Gal. 2:7-8), the same passage from the Skeptics Annotated Bible.
  • Peter came into possession of a Staff of Eden, which he used to become the first leader of the Christian religion and the first Pope of the Roman Catholic religion. Peter was later crucified upside down in the Circus of Nero in Rome around the year 67. St. Peter's Basilica was built over the site to commemorate him.
  • Saint Peter was the gatekeeper of the gate to Heaven. In 2365, a hologram representing a comic mentioned Saint Peter in one of his jokes. (TNG: "The Outrageous Okona" ) The joke was told at a moment when Data had ordered the computer to speed up the comic's routine, and can only be heard by slowing the playback of the DVD. The joke was not in the original script, which simply states that the comic is to speak at a ridiculously fast pace.
  • Saint Peter was one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus Christ who later took on the role of keeper of the gates of Heaven. It is said he holds the keys of the kingdom and personally interviews prospective entrants into Heaven.
  • Saint Peter was one of the 12 disciples of Jesus and also one of the 12 apostles, at least that's a Christian tradition that all Christians agree on. Further Roman Catholic tradition says Saint Peter gave his authority to the Pope in Rome and all later popes get authority from Peter and ultimately from God. Non Catholic Christians disagree about links between Peter and later popes. The connection between Peter and Rome may have been a legend that later Roman Christians invented to strengthen their authority and the authority of the pope.
  • Simon Peter (Greek: Πέτρος, Pétros “Stone, Rock”, Kephas or sometimes Cephas in Hellenized Aramaic) (c.1 – 67 AD/CE) was a leader of the early Christian Church, who features prominently in the New Testament Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles. Peter was the son of John, and was from the village of Bethsaida in the province of Galilee. His brother Andrew was also an apostle.
