The faction known as the Eternal are the guardians, the ones that protect Runescape and all other key quadrants, are the ones who are direct emissaries of Saradomin and Armadyl. Many gods fight in this secret war, some not of RS, to gain supremacy over the many quadrants of Runescape.

| - Under the Gielinor that we all familiarize ourselves with, though not necessarily in tunnels, there is a war going on. One of the bloodiest and longest, I daresay, one that has lasted since before the First Age of Gielinor. Corpses litter the streets, the trees turn red- But virtually nobody knows of it. The faction known as the Eternal are the guardians, the ones that protect Runescape and all other key quadrants, are the ones who are direct emissaries of Saradomin and Armadyl. Recognizing an Eternal 12-notch, the highest rank, is easy but not. They seem common, and the only feature that they share is tan skin and no coloration in one body part, most often wield axes, and were artificially born. That physical description narrows it down to 99999 guys/girls. We're getting close. But it's their behavior you need to watch out for. They are not usually sane, treat noobs with a mixture of insensitivity and generosity, with strength that belies their appearance, negative yet positive, peaceful yet bloodthirsty.Oh, I forgot, they can shapeshift, but it is rare that they turn into anything besides A), their spirit animal, and B) themselves. They also have a strange affinity for long jackets... The Awakened are, like the Eternal, incredibly powerful beings only human in the respect that they can take the form of one. But the Awakened are evil personified, spawned by Zamorak and Zaros, and their true forms are hideously powerful. They are usually pale-skinned, with jet-black hair, and carry daggers and rapiers (thin swords) that can be concealed in canes. they can shift their forms, but not into other beings. More like living shadow. Believe it or not, they created the Bots that once spread over all of the world and nearly destroyed it. They are the ones that created the most famous glitchesof all time, which could spread and take RS over and spawned the Data Anomalies that take over a player and drive them to do evil things Then they would pick up the pieces and take them over. They came dangerously close to this in the 56th quadrant. (see bakayokai no shomon, coming soon!) Many gods fight in this secret war, some not of RS, to gain supremacy over the many quadrants of Runescape. (note: this article is under construction)
