After Victor Drazen relocated to Đakovica in southwest Kosovo, JSOC feared he was planning to escape into the Albanian Alps and evade capture by NATO forces. Under orders from the Senate Special Defense Appropriations Committee, JSOC arranged a mission, codenamed Nightfall, to assassinate Drazen at his compound in Đakovica. Delta Force operator Jack Bauer was reactivated and briefed at Fort Bragg, where he assembled a six-man team and prepared for the mission. JSOC pre-programmed the team's radios with encrypted frequencies to avoid detection by Drazen's forces, but these codes were somehow leaked, resulting in the deaths of everyone on the team except Bauer. (Findings at CTU)
