He was intimately involved in the scandal that toppled Mayor Hugh Addonizio's regime in Newark along with his father, and was an associate of Angelo DeCarlo and Sam DeCavalcante with whom he was caught on federal wiretaps talking about crimes and murders he had committed. Tony Boy died of natural causes in 1978 being outlived by his father Richie, who died in 1984.
