  • Hesperus is a colony planet of the Terran Federation.
  • The planet has harbored life for more than 150,000 years, though the history of the Vespians only beings about 7,500 years ago. Home to a diverse and vibrant population, Hesperus is bound to become the center of the new epoch in Vespian history. With a potential breakthrough in the research and development of faster-than-light travel technology, Hesperus is on its way to becoming the center of an interstellar empire, backed by the vast mineral wealth of its solar system and the ingenuity of its native population. However, though no breakthrough in FTL knowledge has taken place yet, many regions on the planet are being converted into huge spaceports for the future the population has planned for itself.
  • Hesperus is the son of Eos and Cephalus, a mortal man. He is also the god of the evening star (Venus). He is the half-brother of the Astra Planeta (the Greek personifications of planets) and also of the Anemoi(wind gods). Their father is Astraeus the Titan.
  • Hesperus is a planet in the galaxy that served as a vital element for refueling the United Citizens Federation's Fleet. At some point five years after the invasion of Klendathu, the world became infested with Arachnids who quickly secured its surface. This provoked the Fleet, Psi Ops and the Mobile Infantry into an invasion of Hesperus with the intention of removing all Bug presence from it. During the battle, Marauder 06 had to protect a Mechanic Trooper while he fixed various electric defences.
  • Hesperus (Greek Hesperos) is the personification of the "evening star", the planet Venus in the evening. His name is sometimes conflated with the names for his brother, the personification of the planet as the "morning star" Eosphorus (Greek: Ἐωσφόρος, "bearer of dawn") or Phosphorus (Ancient Greek: Φωσφόρος, "bearer of light", often translated as "Lucifer" in Latin), since they are all personifications of the same planet Venus. "Heosphoros" in the Greek Septuagint and "Lucifer" in Jerome's Latin Vulgate were used to translate the Hebrew "Helel" (Venus as the brilliant, bright or shining one), "son of Shahar (Dawn)" in the Hebrew version of Isaiah 14:12.

When named thus by the ancient Greeks, it was thought that Eosphorus (Venus in the morning) and Hesperos (Venus in the evening) were two different celestial objects. The Greeks later accepted the Babylonian view that the two were the same, and the Babylonian identification of the planets with the Great Gods, and dedicated the "wandering star" (planet) to Aphrodite (Roman Venus), as the equivalent of Ishtar. Eosphorus/Hesperus was said to be the father of Ceyx and Daedalion. In some sources, he is also said to be the father of the Hesperides.
